Locked

Despite pulling with all his strength, the lock wouldn’t loosen. His heart felt heavy with pressure, and a look of frustration spread across his face.

His future lay in the balance. What happened in the next few moments could define the rest of his life, define his very existence. Noise sounded from behind him in the distance, the scraping of tires on concrete. They knew he was here. One last failed attempt at the door and Mo was gone, leaping through the surrounding trees like tarzan, narrowly escaping almost certain death. It had been too close that time.

The jungle was a magnet, pulling towards the safety he knew was there. If only the door could have opened that time, he wouldn’t be running away again like a baby. Life was just to hard when you were half man half ape. Arriving at his tree top house, Mo immediately began to formulate another plan. Dozens of lives were depending on him retrieving the serum, if only he could get inside the shed. The trees whispered all around him the wind, maybe he should just give up.
